FiiZ Drinks: Reviving the Soda Shop with a Custom Twist

Launched in 2014 in Bountiful, Utah, by the Morgan and Anderson families, FiiZ Drinks was born out of a shared enthusiasm for crafting inventive soda creations. Now headquartered in Salt Lake City, the brand began franchising in 2017.

FiiZ serves up a creative and customizable menu that includes specialty sodas, flavored waters, energy drinks, hot beverages, and an assortment of salty and sweet snacks. Customers are encouraged to personalize their beverages with a mix of syrups, fruit, purees, and cream, living up to the brand’s tagline: “Your FiiZ, Your Way.”

What distinguishes FiiZ Drinks is its contemporary spin on the nostalgic soda shop, offering a vibrant space for socializing that resonates with a broad customer base. The franchise is built on a simple and scalable business model, known for high revenue per square foot and attractive entry costs—making it an appealing option for new entrepreneurs.

Training

Fiiz Drinks provides a comprehensive, multi-stage training program to equip franchisees and their teams with the skills and knowledge necessary to operate the business successfully. The training structure is designed to ensure consistency and alignment with brand standards.

1. Initial Training Program: This includes three key components: (i) Remote Training delivered via online platforms, (ii) Corporate Training conducted in Utah over five to six days with hands-on practice, and (iii) On-Site Training provided at the franchise location during pre-opening, covering operational procedures and customer service.
2. Replacement Personnel Training: If personnel are replaced or fail to complete initial training, Fiiz Drinks will offer the same program again for a training fee, ensuring all team members meet standards.
3. Additional and Refresher Training: The franchisor may require franchisees and managers to attend up to five days of annual refresher training, which may involve new methods, updates, or remedial instruction.
4. Employee Training: At least one individual who completed the Initial Training must train all employees in essential functions such as sales, POS systems, maintenance, and customer service according to the franchisor's standards.
5. Training for Renewals: Franchisees renewing their agreement must attend refresher courses within 30 days before renewal and pay applicable fees.

Territory Protection

Fiiz Drinks grants its franchisees a "Designated Territory" around their approved store location. Within this territory, the franchisor agrees not to open or license another store using its proprietary marks and system, provided the franchisee complies with the terms of the agreement.

The territory typically spans one to three miles, depending on demographic and market factors like population, income, and competition.

However, this protection is limited. Fiiz Drinks retains the right to open stores in Non-Traditional Sites—such as airports, sports venues, or military bases—even within the franchisee’s Designated Territory.
