Founded in 1969 by Jim Weichert in Chatham, New Jersey, Weichert, Realtors has grown from a single office into one of the nation’s most recognized names in real estate. The company is now headquartered in Morris Plains, New Jersey, and has expanded its services nationwide. In 2001, Weichert began offering franchise opportunities through Weichert Real Estate Affiliates, Inc., with its first franchised office opening in 2002.

Weichert provides a wide array of services that go beyond traditional residential and commercial real estate transactions. The brand offers integrated support in mortgages, home and title insurance, and other related services, creating a seamless experience for both buyers and sellers. This full-service model helps clients navigate the complexities of real estate with ease and confidence.

Training

Weichert® provides a comprehensive training program to franchisees to ensure they are well-prepared to operate a successful real estate business. The training offered by the Franchisor includes the following:

1. Initial Training Program
   The franchisee (if an individual) or the Business Manager (if a business entity) must attend and satisfactorily complete the Initial Training Program at the Weichert Leadership Academy. This program includes both classroom instruction and materials. The franchise fee covers transportation, lodging, meals, and training materials for four nights. The program covers Weichert's business philosophy, recruiting and retention strategies, listing mastery, marketing, and technology.
2. Orientation Services
   After opening, the Franchisor provides 90 days of Orientation Services which may include training, administrative assistance, and consultation. These are designed to help implement the Weichert System and can be provided on-site, off-site, or remotely.
3. Ongoing Field Support
   Beyond the initial 90-day period, Weichert may offer additional support services, which can also include training, at locations determined by the Franchisor.
4. Optional Training Programs
   The Franchisor may also offer optional training for sales associates or staff members. These are conducted through webinars or at regional/local sites. The cost to the franchisee or their staff is limited to reasonable reimbursement for training materials and related expenses.

Territory Protection

Weichert® grants franchisees a defined territory but does not offer exclusive territorial protection. The franchisor and its affiliates reserve the right to operate or license other businesses within the territory, particularly for services beyond residential real estate.

Franchisees cannot expand their territory and are not compensated for any competing services Weichert operates in the area. The agreement permits the franchisor to engage in direct or indirect business activities, including online sales, within or near the franchisee's territory.
