Hunting Lease Network: Bridging Landowners and Hunters Nationwide

Established in 2004, the Hunting Lease Network (HLN) was founded with the mission to connect landowners and sportsmen across the United States, facilitating the leasing of quality hunting lands. The company is headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, and operates as a licensed broker under Farmers National Company.

HLN offers an internet-based platform where landowners can list their properties for lease, and hunters can bid on these listings, ensuring exclusive hunting rights with the possibility of annual renewals. The network provides a seamless bidding process, allowing members to place bids and manage leases efficiently online.

What sets HLN apart from competitors is its comprehensive approach to lease management, offering services that benefit both landowners and hunters. Landowners gain a reliable source of income while maintaining control over their property, and hunters access a wide array of hunting grounds tailored to their preferences.

Training

The Hunting Lease Network® franchise provides several types of training programs for franchisees:

  1. Initial Training Program
Before opening the franchised business, the franchisee (or a principal) must complete the Initial Training Program in Omaha, Nebraska. This session lasts one day (excluding travel) and must be completed to the Franchisor’s satisfaction. The franchisee bears all expenses including travel, lodging, meals, and salaries during training.
  2. Additional Training Programs
Franchisor may require franchisees to attend additional training, annual meetings, or seminars throughout the year. Only one such mandatory session per year is permitted, with a maximum duration of three days. These may be held at locations chosen by the Franchisor, and franchisees are responsible for all related costs.
  3. Training at the Franchisee’s Facility
Upon request, the Franchisor may provide training at the franchisee's facility. This service costs $500 per day plus expenses such as travel, lodging, and meals. The Franchisor submits an invoice after training, payable within 14 days.
  4. Training for Additional Trainees
If the franchisee wishes to bring more than two individuals to the Initial Training Program, there is a $500 fee per additional trainee.

Territory Protection

The Hunting Lease Network® provides exclusive territory rights to franchisees, as detailed in the Franchise Agreement. While the agreement prevents the franchisor from granting new franchises or opening company-owned outlets in that territory, this protection applies only if the franchisee remains in compliance.

If the franchisee fails to meet performance standards, the franchisor may reduce the territory, allow new franchises, or establish its own operations within it. Thus, territory protection is conditional, not guaranteed.
