The Sensory Club: Empowering Individuals Through Sensory Experiences

Established in 2016 in Wisconsin, The Sensory Club is a pioneering franchise dedicated to providing sensory experiences for individuals of all ages, particularly those with sensory processing challenges. The company is headquartered in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, and began offering franchise opportunities in February 2021.

Franchisees operate health clubs equipped with sensory gyms and multi-sensory environments, offering therapeutic equipment and controlled sensory stimulation tailored to a wide range of needs. The Sensory Club’s mission is to create inclusive, welcoming environments where members can explore and satisfy their sensory needs in a safe and supportive setting.

These clubs are designed to serve children, teens, adults, and seniors with sensory processing disorders, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and other related conditions. Each location is carefully designed to offer both active and calming spaces that cater to individual preferences and therapeutic goals.

What sets The Sensory Club apart from other businesses is its unique combination of health club structure with a therapeutic focus. In addition to open gym time, clubs offer a variety of services including birthday party hosting, group field trips, and specialized events.

Training

The Sensory Club franchise provides a structured training program for new franchisees and their designated managers, designed to ensure consistent operation across all locations. The training includes both classroom and on-the-job components, as outlined below:

  1. Initial Franchisee Training Course
This is a mandatory 7-hour session conducted approximately 30 to 60 days prior to the club’s opening. It must be completed to the Franchisor’s satisfaction. If a franchisee registers and does not attend or cancels with less than 30 days' notice, a $500 fee applies. The training is conducted by The Sensory Club instructor and can take place at the Delafield, Wisconsin headquarters or another location designated by the Franchisor. The training is free, but franchisees bear their own travel and incidental expenses.
  2. Training Topics and Hours
    • Day-to-Day Operation: 2.0 hours of classroom training
    • Use of the Wellness Living System: 3.0 hours of classroom training
    • Cleaning: 0.5 hours of classroom training
    • Government Contracts: 0.5 hours of classroom training
    • Business Development: 1.0 hour of classroom training
All sessions are held in Delafield, WI. There are no on-the-job training hours specified for these topics.
  3. Instructional Materials
Franchisees receive an Operations Manual containing procedures, quality control directives, and details on equipment, signage, inventory, and supplies. This manual serves as the primary instructional material for running the franchise.
  4. Ongoing and Additional Training
The Franchisor may require franchisees to attend additional training sessions post-opening as needed. These may also be held online, by phone, or at various physical locations.

Territory Protection

The Sensory Club grants franchisees a “Protected Territory” where no other Sensory Club locations can be opened, as long as the franchisee remains in compliance with the agreement. This exclusivity applies only to physical locations, not customer solicitation.

Other franchisees and the Franchisor may still market to or serve customers within your territory. If you breach the agreement, the Franchisor may revoke or reduce your territorial protection.
