Ace Handyman Services: A Trusted Name in Home Improvement

Founded in 1998, Ace Handyman Services has established itself as a leading provider of professional handyman solutions. In 2019, the company achieved a major milestone when it was acquired by the well-known Ace Hardware, further solidifying its reputation in the industry. The franchise is headquartered in Denver, Colorado, and efficiently manages a wide network of services throughout the United States from this central location.

Ace Handyman Services ventured into franchising early in its history, aiming to expand its footprint by enabling local entrepreneurs to bring its unique service model to their communities. The franchise offers a comprehensive range of handyman services, from minor repairs to extensive home improvement projects, meeting a diverse array of customer needs.

A significant advantage for Ace Handyman Services in the competitive home improvement market is its affiliation with Ace Hardware, a brand with over 90 years of trust and credibility. This partnership not only boosts the franchise's market visibility but also provides franchisees with access to Ace Hardware's extensive network, competitive pricing, and national rebate program.

Moreover, Ace Handyman Services is dedicated to ethical business practices, focusing on delivering value, serving people, and solving problems. This commitment to integrity sets it apart in an industry where such values can sometimes be overlooked.

Training

Ace Handyman ensures that franchisees receive thorough training to successfully launch and manage their franchises. The training program includes:

Initial Training Program: Before opening their franchise, franchisees, along with their Principal Representative, Franchise Manager, and Office Manager, must complete the Initial Training Program. This program, which can be conducted in-person or via video conference, covers all essential operational aspects to prepare franchisees for a successful start.

On-Site Training: During the first 90 days of operation, franchisees receive 18 to 24 hours of on-the-job training at their location over two to three business days. This mandatory training is designed to reinforce operational procedures and standards, ensuring smooth and efficient franchise operations.

Additional Training: If further training is needed, either identified by the franchisor or requested by the franchisee, it will be conducted at a designated location or virtually. Franchisees are responsible for travel, lodging, and other expenses associated with attending this additional training, and will pay standard fees for the training as per the current fee schedule.

Continuous Education and Meetings: Ace Handyman may offer various seminars, conventions, continuing development programs, and other training sessions or meetings, both in-person and virtually. While some of these sessions are voluntary, franchisees are required to attend any mandatory events specified by the franchisor. These programs are designed to provide ongoing support and keep franchisees updated with the latest industry trends and best practices.

Territory Protection

Ace Handyman offers franchisees designated protected territories, clearly outlined by zip codes through their business mapping software. As a franchisee, you will receive a territory where Ace Handyman agrees not to operate or allow another Ace Handyman Services (AHS) Business to operate, providing you with specific territorial protections. The size and configuration of your territory are based on the number of households within these zip codes.

Your territory will be determined prior to signing the Franchise Agreement and will be detailed in the Addendum to your Franchise Agreement. It is important to understand that while you have rights to your designated territory, and Ace Handyman will not allow other AHS Businesses to operate within your territory as long as you are in good standing with your Franchise Agreement, your territory is not considered exclusive.

This means you might face competition from other franchisees, Ace Handyman-owned outlets, or other distribution channels or competitive brands controlled by Ace Handyman. Additionally, you do not automatically gain the right to acquire adjacent territories, but you may be granted permission to sell or service customers in an unsold adjacent territory at Ace Handyman's discretion.
