Grease Monkey provides an extensive training program for its franchisees.
Initial Training: Prior to launching a Grease Monkey Center, franchisees or their principal owners must complete an Initial Training Program. This comprehensive program includes both classroom instruction and practical, hands-on training. The classroom portion lasts approximately three to four days, followed by around five days of practical training. The duration and content can be adjusted based on the participants' experience and skill levels.
Training Subjects: The Initial Training Program encompasses a wide range of topics, including General Center Operations, Vendor Training, Sales/Presentation Techniques, Lubricants and Fluids, Certification Programs, Fleet Accounts Sales and Processing, Key Performance Indicators/Financial Management, and Leadership Skills.
Ongoing Training: Franchisees have access to "FullSpeed University," an online training platform offering various courses, some of which may be required for certification.
Expenses and Other Details
For franchisees opening their first Grease Monkey Center, the company offers to reimburse reasonable travel and lodging expenses for up to two attendees of the Initial Training Program, up to a maximum of $5,000. However, this reimbursement is not available for those opening additional centers or purchasing an existing center from another franchisee.
While training fees for up to two people are covered by the company, franchisees are responsible for other expenses incurred during the training, such as meals and personal costs.
Franchisees of Grease Monkey are not given exclusive territories. Instead, they receive a designated geographic area, known as the "Designated Area," where their Grease Monkey Center and Monkey Shine Facility will be situated. This area is chosen to determine an appropriate site for the franchisee's Center and Facility.
It is important to understand that the Designated Area does not provide any exclusive rights or territorial protections, either before or after the Franchise Agreement is signed. Typically, this area is defined by city, county, or other physical boundaries.
Franchisees do not have any options, rights of first refusal, or similar contractual rights to open additional Grease Monkey Centers, Monkey Shine Facilities, or Franchises in neighboring areas to their Franchised Location.
