Abra Auto Body & Glass: Leading the Way in Auto Repair Excellence

Abra Auto Body & Glass was founded in 1984 by Roland D. Benjamin in Fridley, Minnesota. Initially known as Auto Body Refinishers of America, the company quickly expanded due to its commitment to providing high-quality auto body and glass repair services with a focus on customer satisfaction. By 1989, Abra had incorporated auto glass repair into its services, becoming Abra Auto Body & Glass.

Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Abra Auto Body & Glass has built a reputation for its exceptional service and state-of-the-art repair technology. The company offers a comprehensive range of services, including collision repair, auto glass replacement, and paintless dent repair.

Abra's mission is to repair damaged vehicles "Right the First Time, On Time®," ensuring a hassle-free experience for its customers. This dedication to quality and customer care has made Abra one of the most recommended auto body repair companies in America.

Abra began franchising in 1984, shortly after its inception. The company’s franchise model emphasizes the use of modern, high-tech equipment and highly trained staff to deliver superior customer service. Each Abra location is designed to provide a clean and welcoming environment, further differentiating the company from its competitors.

Training

Abra Auto Body & Glass provides comprehensive training to its franchisees, ensuring they are well-prepared to operate their repair centers effectively. The training program includes both initial and ongoing components.

Initial Training

  1. Theoretical and Practical Training
    • The initial training covers the theoretical and practical aspects of running an ABRA Repair Center. This training is designed for new franchisees and specific managers and is provided within approximately 10 weeks after signing the franchise agreement. The training can be conducted on-site or online.
  2. Operational Training
    • Franchisees receive detailed instructions on daily operations, customer service, and managing the repair processes, including collision repair, paintless dent removal, and auto glass repair and replacement.

Ongoing Training

  1. Continuous Learning
    • ABRA offers additional training programs periodically, which include specialized sessions such as bumper repair training. These programs ensure that franchisees stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and industry standards.
  2. Annual Conventions and Mandatory Programs
    • Franchisees are required to participate in the annual ABRA convention and other mandatory training programs. These sessions provide opportunities for continuous professional development and networking with other franchisees.
  3. Specialized Training for Operational Standards
    • If a franchisee fails to meet operational standards, ABRA may require them to attend and complete additional training programs to address these issues at the franchisee's expense.

Territory Protection

ABRA Franchisor SPV LLC grants franchisees a "Protected Area," generally extending a one-mile radius from their Repair Center. However, this does not guarantee an exclusive territory.

Within this area, franchisees might encounter competition from other ABRA franchises, company-owned centers, or different distribution channels managed by ABRA. The franchisor and its affiliates maintain the right to advertise and provide services to customers within the Protected Area.
