Training
HOMEstretch provides a comprehensive suite of training programs for its franchisees. These training initiatives are designed to ensure franchisees and their staff are well-prepared to operate within the HOMEstretch system effectively. The training programs include:
- Initial Training Program: This is a mandatory, tuition-free training offered to the franchisee and one additional representative, typically conducted at HOMEstretch's headquarters or another designated location. It must be completed before opening the franchised business. The program lasts approximately three days and may include both classroom and on-the-job elements. Franchisees are responsible for travel, lodging, and related expenses.
- Additional and Refresher Training: HOMEstretch may require franchisees, their Business Development Managers, and employees to attend additional or refresher courses. These sessions are designed to provide updates and advanced knowledge about the system and may be held annually. All associated expenses, including tuition and travel, are the franchisee’s responsibility.
- Remedial Training: If a franchisee is found to be operating below standards, HOMEstretch can mandate up to five days of remedial training annually. This may take place at corporate headquarters or on-site. Tuition fees and all related expenses are borne by the franchisee.
- Employee Training and Materials: Franchisees are responsible for ensuring all employees are trained according to HOMEstretch standards. HOMEstretch provides proprietary training materials that must be used exclusively for this purpose. Updated materials may be distributed via the Operations Manual or other platforms.
- On-Demand and On-Site Assistance: Upon request, HOMEstretch may offer additional training or assistance, either at the headquarters or at the franchisee’s location. This is subject to availability and comes at an extra cost, including tuition and expenses for both franchisee and HOMEstretch personnel.
Territory Protection
HOMEstretch provides limited territorial protection through a “Designated Territory,” typically covering about 150,000 households. As long as the franchisee is in good standing, the franchisor will not license or operate another HOMEstretch franchise within that area.
However, the protection is not exclusive. HOMEstretch reserves the right to operate or license other businesses, including competitors, outside the Designated Territory. Franchisees need prior written consent to operate beyond their territory, and outside revenue must not exceed 15% of monthly gross revenue.
